Making Scrumptious Memories

I first got interested in baking when I was very young, five years old I believe. My parents always had me in the kitchen with them making everything from lasagna, brownies, muffins, cookies, sausage rolls, cakes, and so much more. As I grew up, I was always looking through cookbooks to see what I could try making and I pretended I had my own cooking show on a regular basis. Food Network was always on and not only did I watch baking, I also watched cooking shows. I even met Emeril Lagasse at a book signing event and I told him I wanted to be just like him when I was older.

When I entered junior high, cooking and baking really became a part of who I am. I took home economics and learned how to make all sorts of things and fell in love. I started baking for friends and family and the smiles and compliments on everyone’s faces spurred me on. In high school, I took more cooking and baking classes and realized that I wanted to make my passion a career.

After graduating high school, I enrolled in the Baking Arts program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology and for the next two years, I learned new skills, recipes, flavors and techniques. Being in the bakery was where I really felt my creativity blossom and I learned so many things. However, I really found my niche making cupcakes. They’re so fun, easy, and flexible to create designs and each person gets their own individual cake.

When people come to me to order custom cupcakes, I am honored to be a part of their special occasion and I do everything in my power to make sure their cupcakes are exactly what they want. The smiles, thanks and reactions are one of my favorite parts of the job. Meeting new people, getting to know them, and making them happy is my 100% priority and when they get excited about cupcakes, it makes my day!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special event.
